You must be very careful when using ankle weights however; if you have brittle bones, stiff or loose joints or you have suffered a knee or ankle injury in the past, make sure you consult a doctor before trying this method out.
* Field kicking: field kicking refers to doing a large kick-like motion by swinging your entire leg up from your hip, keeping your leg rigid. Ensure you do some calf and hamstring stretches before and after this exercise.
* Cycling: try cycling with an elevated seat, as this will force your legs to stretch further, hence stretching your muscles and joints. Cycling can be performed on either a standard bicycle or on an exercise bike at home. If you opt for the outdoor option, make sure that you can reach the pedals; don't set the seat at a level that is uncomfortable or you may find it difficult to control the bike which could easily result in an injury to yourself or another person.
* Swimming: swimming is a fantastic exercise, whether or not you are doing it for height-gain. It relaxes and stretches the joints and allows optimum mobility and weightlessness. Swimming requires you to use your whole body, thus strengthening and stretching every limb.
